Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola reportedly wants Chelsea target Xavi Simons to replace Savinho at the Etihad Stadium should the Brazilian ended up leaving the club this summer.
According to SunSport (via Journalist Sacha Tavolieri), the Cityzens have re-established contact with the Simons’ agent Ali Barat in a bid to land him thisbl summer transfer window.
This is coming after Tottenham Hotspur recently made an approach to buy Savinho from City.
Spurs manager Thomas Frank has already indicated Savinho as ideal player to help bolster his squad.
This comes after the recent departure of Son Heung-min from Tottenham.
Recall that Son, a South Korea international, moved to the Major League Soccer, MSL, after spending 10 years at Tottenham.
However, City are open to selling the Savinho should Tottenham offer enough money for the winger and the 21-year-old is also keen on a move to Tottenham.
As a result, Guardiola’s side want
Simons, who has been linked with Chelsea this summer, as a potential replacement for Savinho at the Etihad Stadium.
Guardiola is keen to bolster his sqaud after they finished in the third position last season only behind Arsenal and Liverpool.
