The president and founder of Living Faith Church Worldwide, Bishop David Oyedepo, has said he forewarned Nigerians as far back as 2015 about difficult times ahead, adding that the challenges the nation later faced were not a surprise to him.
Oyedepo made the remarks during Day 5 of the ongoing Shiloh program, themed “Breaking New Ground,” where he reflected on what he described as divine insights received long before events unfolded physically.
According to the cleric, developments in nations and societies are often revealed in the spiritual realm years before they become evident, stressing that spiritual sensitivity is key to understanding global and national trends.
Addressing worshippers, Oyedepo said, “For those who are Nigerians, I told you trouble was coming in 2015. Did it come? I saw it the first time in 1992.”
He explained that his earlier warnings were not meant to spread fear but to prepare believers mentally and spiritually for challenging seasons, noting that insight and discernment help people navigate turbulent times.
Oyedepo further stated that advancements in intelligence and information systems have made it possible for events to be anticipated long before they happen, reinforcing his point about foresight and preparedness.
Despite acknowledging the difficulties Nigeria has faced, the bishop struck an optimistic tone, encouraging worshippers to remain steadfast in faith, as trials often precede breakthroughs.
“But thank God, victory is here,” Oyedepo declared, assuring Nigerians that the season of hardship would give way to triumph and divine intervention.
