Cristiano Ronaldo continued his remarkable scoring run on Friday, netting the 961st goal of his illustrious career as Al Nassr defeated Al Kholood 3-0 in the Saudi Pro League.
The Matchday 18 encounter was played at the King Abdullah Sport City Stadium in Buraydah, where the Al Nassr captain found the back of the net to register his 17th goal of the season.
The 40-year-old is now level on the league’s scoring chart with Al Qadsiah forward Julian Quinones, who also scored in his side’s clash with Al Hilal on Thursday.
Ronaldo is closing in on another historic landmark, sitting just 39 goals shy of the coveted 1,000-career-goal milestone.
The Portugal international has won the Saudi Pro League Golden Boot in each of the last two seasons and remains a key figure for Al Nassr, who are currently third on the table with 40 points, six behind leaders Al Hilal.
