Rivers: Wike-Fubara fight can’t be solved by Tinubu or any mortal—Pastor Ibiyeomie

The General Overseer of Salvation Ministries, Pastor David Ibiyeomie, has described the prolonged political rift between Rivers State Governor Siminalayi Fubara and the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, as a spiritual issue beyond human resolution.

Speaking during a church service in a video that has since gone viral, the Port Harcourt–based cleric said no mortal can end the conflict, insisting that only divine intervention can resolve the crisis.

Ibiyeomie traced a recurring pattern of political fallouts in Rivers State, noting that successive governors have often clashed with their political benefactors. He recalled that former Governor Peter Odili fell out with his predecessor, Rufus Ada George; Chibuike Amaechi later fought Odili, who supported his rise; Wike battled Amaechi, his former boss; and now Governor Fubara is locked in a dispute with Wike.

According to the pastor, the cycle would likely repeat itself even after Fubara’s tenure if he were to anoint a successor.

“If God speaks to me, I will say it. No mortal man, I repeat, can solve the problem of Rivers State,” Ibiyeomie said. “It is not a physical problem. Has the president been able to solve it? No.”

He added, “Amaechi was Odili’s boy and fought him. Wike was Amaechi’s boy and fought him. Sim was Wike’s boy, and they are fighting. It can never be solved by any physical man, except by the hand of God.”

The cleric maintained that political efforts to end the crisis have failed because, in his view, the issue is spiritual rather than political.
