Rivers: Tinubu backs Fubara over rift with Wike

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has reaffirmed his support for Rivers State Governor, Siminalayi Fubara, insisting that the governor should be allowed to perform his constitutional duties without undue interference.

The President’s stance was disclosed by his Special Adviser on Policy and Communication, Daniel Bwala, during an appearance on Politics Today on Channels Television on Thursday.

Bwala noted that President Tinubu is committed to democratic principles and effective governance, stressing that political disagreements should not obstruct the smooth administration of any state.

He acknowledged the role of the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, describing him as a key figure in the Tinubu administration. However, Bwala clarified that Wike is not a member of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).

According to him, regardless of political alignments or differences, Governor Fubara must be given the necessary space to govern Rivers State in line with the mandate given to him by the people.
