Rivers: Dog barks when it doesn’t understand—Fubara speaks amid fresh tension with Wike

Rivers State Governor Siminalayi Fubara has called on his supporters to remain calm despite the ongoing political face-off between him and the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike.

The governor gave the assurance while speaking at the New Year banquet held on Thursday at the Government House in Port Harcourt.

Fubara said his camp has chosen not to react noisily to the situation because they fully understand what is happening, adding that those making noise are doing so out of confusion.

He assured his supporters that necessary arrangements have been put in place to ensure the smooth running of his administration as well as his re-election ambition.

Using an analogy, the governor explained that reactions often come from a lack of understanding, stressing that his administration remains focused on its direction and objectives.

Fubara reiterated that his team knows where it is headed and has already put all the required measures in place to ensure a smooth political journey.

Don’t be disturbed by what is happening. Caesar, in one of his quotes, said the only reason the dog barks is when it doesn’t understand.

“If you have a dog in your house and it knows you, does it need to bark? So when the dog starts barking, maybe it is seeing something it doesn’t understand.

“We are not barking because we understand. We know where we are going, and we have set all the things that are needed to make the journey smooth.”
