The Rivers State Governor, Siminalayi Fubara, and Kingsley Chinda, a loyalist of the Federal Capital Territory, FCT Minister Nyesom Wike, have been successfully screened by the All Progressives Congress, APC, ahead of the May 21 gubernatorial primary election.
Fubara was cleared by the APC screening committee at the Plateau Governors Lodge, Abuja, on Saturday.
The Rivers State leader was among the 17 serving governors, whose credentials were verified and assessed by the committee.
Nigerian Newssphere reports that the gubernatorial election would be a clash of the titans as Wike’s ally, Chinda, vowed to cripple his re-election bid.
Recall that Chinda was earlier screened and cleared to face Fubara in the coming election.
