Popular Nollywood star, John Okafor, known as Mr Ibu is died.
Igbo History and Facts disclosed this through its official X account on Saturday.
Also, Actors Guild of Nigeria, AGN confirmed the death of the veteran Actor, Mr Ibu.
The president of the association, Emeka Rollas Ejezie via his verified Instagram page revealed that Mr Ibu passed on today, March 2 after he had a cardiac arrest.
Ejezie noted that Ibu’s death coincided with the death of Kate Henshaw’s mother who also breathed her last on Saturday.
“Sad Day for Actors Guild of Nigeria.
Kate Henshaw lost her mother earlier today and Mr Ibu suffered cardiac arrest according to his manager for 24 years Mr Don Single Nwuzor. I announce with a deep sense of grief that Mr Ibu didn’t make it.May his soul rest in peace,”
Recently it was reported that thr Actor’s health was deteriorating after one of his legs was amputated in November.
Recall that Nigerians did crowd-funding for Mr Ibu last year in order to keep the Actor alive.
The 62-year-old popular Nigerian Actor had featured in many Nollywood films including Keziah, 9 Wives, Mr Ibu in London and other.
He hailed from Enugu, Southeast Nigeria.
