Popular Nigerian comic actor, Bamidele Tope Saint, widely known as Okemesi, has passed away.
He reportedly died at about 11:50 a.m. on Tuesday, February 24, 2026, at a hospital where he had been receiving treatment.
Nigerian Newssphere had earlier reported that the actor slipped into a coma following alleged complications from medication administered at the hospital. He was said to have spent several hours in that state before his death was confirmed.
The news of his demise was announced in an emotional video shared on Instagram by fellow actor Tony Montana Jeff, who disclosed that Okemesi’s body has been deposited in the mortuary.
“With a heavy heart, I’m announcing to the world that Okemesi is dead. The doctor pronounced him dead at exactly 11:50 a.m. this morning, 24 February 2026. Okemesi is gone.
“On behalf of the entire Bamidele family, I’m announcing that Oluwatope Bamidele Saint Okemesi is dead. We have taken the body to the morgue. I will communicate further arrangements to you. We appreciate everyone who stood by him. May God forgive Okemesi and rest his soul,” he said.
