Former Ekiti State Governor Ayodele Fayose has reiterated the unity of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), emphasizing that members must abide by court rulings.
Speaking on Sunday at the party’s ongoing national convention held at the Moshood Abiola National Stadium in Abuja, Fayose said the Ekiti delegation was fully present and aligned with the party’s current direction.
According to him, judicial pronouncements should be respected, noting that while party members have the right to challenge decisions, they must not undermine the judiciary.
“Yes, we delegates of Ekiti are here, and we are 88. There is only one PDP. The moment we have the pronouncement of the court, sometimes we demean the judiciary by ourselves. We can appeal judgment,” he said.
Fayose also described the minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, as a central figure in the party, crediting his influence to his contributions.
“Nyesom Wike is the national leader of our party (PDP), and we made him due to his contribution; he leads and we follow,” he added.
