Simon Ekpa, led Biafra Republic Government In-Exile has said there is no longer a need for Ohaneze Ndi Igbo in Biafraland amid the recent death of its President Emmanuel Iwuanyanwu.
Ekpa, the prime Minister of BRGIE disclosed this in a statement through his official X handle on Friday.
Recall that Iwuanyanwu died after a brief illness on Thursday, July 25, 2024.
His death comes after the passing of his predecessor, George Obiozor in December 2022.
Reacting to the situation, Ekpa said there was no need for the election of another president of Ohaneze Ndi Igbo over the incessant death of its heads.
He said Biafrans are tired of mourning and crying over Ohaneze Ndi Igbo.
Accordingly to him, Ohaneze Ndi and its leaders are not working for Biafra Liberation.
“Anything Ohaneze should cease in Biafraland, following the death of Iwuanyanwu, its head and enabler.
“The BRGIE is putting it as a warning that going forward, there should be nothing like Ohaneze nor Ohaneze election in Biafraland.
“Biafrans will deal with anyone propagating Ohaneze within Biafraland.
“The time of Ohaneze sorrow, tears and blood in Biafraland is over”, he said.
Meanwhile, recall that Nigeria’s President, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, southeast governors, the Presidential Candidate of Labour Party, Peter Obi and other bigwigs had announced their condolences over the death of Iwuanyanwu.
