Nigeria’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Yusuf Tuggar, is set to resign from President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration.
Former presidential media aide Bashir Ahmad confirmed that Tuggar would resign on Monday to run for his Bauchi State gubernatorial ambition.
“The Foreign Affairs Minister, Yusuf Tuggar, will bid farewell to the Federal Executive Council today as he steps down from his position to pursue the governorship of Bauchi State,” he wrote on X on Monday.
However, the minister has not officially tendered his resignation.
Recall that President Tinubu told all his appointees seeking elective positions in 2027 to resign by 31st March 2026.
