Nigerian comedian and actor, Ganiyu Morofu known as Ijoba Lande has alleged that he was attacked and beaten by police officers shortly after returning to the country from the United Kingdom.
In a post shared on his Instagram page, the entertainer said he arrived in Nigeria six days ago before the alleged incident occurred. According to him, the officers assaulted him and confiscated his iPhone 16 Pro Max, as well as his brother’s $1,200.
“I came back from the UK 6 days ago and was attacked and beaten by police in Nigeria. They collected my iPhone 16 Pro Max and my brother’s $1,200. I nearly lost my life,” Lande wrote.
The comedian, who appeared visibly distressed in his post, cried out for help as he recounted the incident. He did not disclose where the alleged assault took place or the identities of the officers involved.
As of the time of filing this report, the Nigeria Police Force has not issued an official response to the allegations.
