Nigerian gospel minister and pastor Nathaniel Bassey has narrated how a man he described as a traditional spiritualist allegedly tried to place him under a spell but failed.
Bassey said the incident occurred along an expressway and revealed that it was the second time the same individual had approached him.
Speaking during a worship session, the cleric explained that the man knocked on his car window and began what he described as casting an enchantment, allegedly attempting to influence and command him to act in a certain way.
According to Bassey, he responded by laughing and declaring Bible verses affirming divine protection. He referenced a scripture that says, “Touch not my anointed and do my prophets no harm,” stressing his confidence in God’s protection.
He further cited another biblical passage, which states, “There is no enchantment against Jacob, neither is there any divination against Israel,” expressing his belief that the alleged spiritual attempt could not succeed.
The pastor said the man lingered at the scene, seemingly waiting for the supposed spell to take effect. Bassey added that he later stepped out of his vehicle and ordered the individual to leave immediately.
Reflecting on the encounter, he said he regretted not detaining the man until law enforcement officers arrived.
Bassey, however, clarified that he was not sharing the experience to glorify evil but to underscore what he described as the reality of spiritual challenges and the power of faith.
