Galatasaray have reportedly assured Nigerian striker Victor Osimhen that the club will build a stronger squad ahead of the new season as speculation over his future continues.
The Turkish champions are determined to keep the Super Eagles forward despite growing interest from some of Europe’s biggest clubs following another outstanding campaign.
Spanish giants Barcelona and Atletico Madrid, along with Premier League clubs Manchester United and Arsenal, have all been linked with the former African Footballer of the Year after he registered 30 goal contributions in 33 appearances last season.
Osimhen remains one of the hottest names in the summer transfer market, with Galatasaray keen to convince the prolific striker that the club is capable of competing at a higher level.
Turkish football pundit Levent Tüzemen disclosed that Galatasaray’s hierarchy has already made a commitment to the Nigerian international regarding their ambitions for next season.
“Victor Osimhen received a promise from the Galatasaray management that, ‘We will be a better team next season,'” Tüzemen said during an appearance on the Libero TV YouTube channel, as quoted by habersarikirmizi.com.
Osimhen joined Galatasaray on a permanent deal last summer for a Turkish Süper Lig record fee of €75 million and remains under contract with the Istanbul club for another three years.
