Popular Nigerian comedian and content creator Carter Efe has had his Twitch account temporarily suspended, sparking widespread reactions from fans just days after his record-breaking livestream with Afrobeats superstar Davido.
The highly publicized livestream, held on December 17, 2025, attracted massive online engagement and propelled Carter Efe to become Africa’s most-followed Twitch streamer, amassing over 405,000 followers in a short period.
Announcing the development on Monday, the comedian disclosed that Twitch had imposed a four-month suspension on his account for alleged violations of the platform’s Terms of Service and Community Guidelines. Twitch, however, did not specify the exact nature of the violations.
The suspension comes shortly after Carter Efe overtook other prominent Nigerian content creators, including Shank Comics, and delivered one of the most-watched livestreams on the platform alongside Davido.
In response, fans and supporters took to social media to express disappointment and solidarity with the comedian, praising him as a “joy giver” and calling on Twitch to reconsider or review the decision.
Although online speculation suggests the suspension may have followed mass reporting linked to comments or on-stream antics during the livestream, claims of additional bans on other platforms have been dismissed as untrue.
The development has dampened the mood for many fans, especially during the festive season, with growing calls for a swift resolution and reinstatement of Carter Efe’s account.
