Former Minister of Finance, Kemi Adeosun, has lost her husband, Anthony Adeniyi Adeosun.
The family announced in a statement that Anthony Adeosun died on Wednesday in Lagos at the age of 62.
The statement, signed by C. A. Adeosun on behalf of the family, said the late Anthony Adeosun is survived by his wife, children, and siblings, including Adewale Adeosun, founder of Kuramo Capital.
The family also disclosed that details of his Christian burial and funeral arrangements would be announced at a later date.
“Though our hearts are heavy, we take comfort in the assurance of God’s Word: ‘Blessed are the dead which die in the Lord… that they may rest from their labours; and their works do follow them’ (Revelation 14:13).
“The family requests privacy during this difficult period as we grieve our irreplaceable loss. Details of the funeral and Christian burial arrangements will be communicated in due course.
“We thank all who have reached out with prayers, condolences, and support,” the statement read.
Kemi Adeosun served as Nigeria’s Minister of Finance under former President Muhammadu Buhari from 2015 until 2018.
