Arsenal missed the chance to extend their lead at the top of the Premier League table after suffering a 2-1 defeat to Bournemouth on Saturday.
The Gunners had gone nine points clear following a 2-0 victory over Everton, while Manchester City were held to a 1-1 draw by West Ham. A win in the early kick-off would have stretched Arsenal’s advantage to 12 points.
However, Bournemouth took control of the encounter in the first half, with Kroupi Jr finishing from close range at the near post to give the visitors the lead.
Arsenal responded before the break, as Viktor Gyokeres calmly converted a penalty to bring the hosts level.
Despite their efforts, Bournemouth sealed a dramatic victory late on, with Alex Scott netting the winner at the Emirates Stadium to deal a significant blow to Arsenal’s title charge.
The result leaves the door open for Manchester City, who can reduce the gap at the top if they secure victory against Chelsea on Sunday.
