Chelsea secured a place in the semi-finals of the Carabao Cup after a 3-1 victory over Cardiff City on Tuesday night.
Head coach Enzo Maresca fielded a heavily rotated starting XI, and the Blues found it difficult to assert control against the Championship side in the early stages.
The breakthrough finally came in the second half when substitute Alejandro Garnacho calmly slotted the ball into the corner to give Chelsea the lead.
Cardiff threatened a shock comeback after David Turnbull struck to level the scores, briefly putting the visitors back in contention.
However, Chelsea responded with renewed intensity and quality, restoring their advantage through Pedro Neto before Garnacho completed his brace to seal the win.
Attention now turns to the remaining quarter-final fixtures on Wednesday, as Fulham hosts Newcastle United and Manchester City welcomes Brentford.
