The motorcade of former Anambra State Governor Peter Obi was reportedly attacked by suspected gunmen in Edo State, leaving several vehicles riddled with bullets.
Nigerian Newsphere earlier reported that Obi came under attack during the formal declaration of Olumide Akpata into the African Democratic Congress (ADC) in Benin City.
Videos circulating online show vehicles in the convoy with shattered windows and visible bullet holes after the incident.
While no casualties were reported, the attack has heightened tension in the area, raising concerns among supporters and residents.
