President Donald Trump on Saturday confirmed the death of Iran’s Supreme Leader, Ali Khamenei, following reports of a strike in Tehran.
In a post shared on Truth Social, Trump stated that Khamenei was unable to evade United States intelligence and advanced tracking systems. He said the operation was carried out in close coordination with Israel.
“The supreme leader was unable to avoid our intelligence and highly sophisticated tracking systems, and, working closely with Israel, there was not a thing he, or the other leaders that have been killed along with him, could do,” Trump wrote.
Earlier Nigerian Newssphere reports had indicated that Khamenei died after an Israeli strike targeted locations in Tehran.
Trump described Khamenei as “one of the most evil people in history,” adding that his death delivered justice to Iranians, Americans, and others around the world whom he claimed suffered under his leadership.
The US president further disclosed that other Iranian leaders were killed in the operation. He also alleged that members of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), along with additional military and security officials, were seeking immunity from the United States.
According to Trump, some figures within Iran’s security establishment were no longer willing to continue fighting.
