President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has approved the appointment and reappointment of six key officials in Nigeria’s education sector in a fresh round of administrative decisions announced on Wednesday.
The latest approvals cover leadership positions across regulatory and academic institutions, including examination, technical education, and library services.
Those appointed and reappointed are:
Prof. Modupe Adeola Adelabu – Chairman, Governing Board, National Examinations Council (NECO)
Prof. Ibrahim Dantani Wushishi – Retained as Registrar/Chief Executive, NECO
Prof. Babatunde Salako – Chairman, Governing Board, National Board for Technical Education (NBTE)
Prof. Idris M. Bugaje – Reappointed as Executive Secretary, NBTE, for a second and final five-year term
Engr. Dr. Bongfa Binfa – Appointed Rector, Federal Polytechnic, N’yak-Shendam, Plateau State, for a five-year term
Prof. Chinwe Veronica Anunobi – Reappointed as Director/Chief Executive, National Library of Nigeria, for a final five-year term
The appointments are expected to strengthen leadership across key institutions responsible for Nigeria’s educational standards, technical training, and academic resources.
