BREAKING: Dangote Refinery increases fuel price by N100, fourth time in 12 days

The Dangote Petroleum Refinery has raised its ex-depot price of petrol to N1,175 per liter again, prompting depot operators in various locations to temporarily suspend sales.

The refinery had earlier reduced the price of Premium Motor Spirit (PMS) by N100 to N1,075 per liter on March 10, 2026, down from the previous N1,175 per liter. Following the earlier reduction, depot operators had begun selling the product at an average of about N1,100 per liter.

However, the latest upward review has led many depot operators to halt sales transactions while awaiting further clarity on the new pricing.

Loading activities at the refinery have also been temporarily suspended as the company reconciles its stock and adjusts operations to align with the updated pricing structure.

The adjustment comes amid a surge in global crude oil prices, with Brent crude rising from about $91 to $100 per barrel, a development that has increased the cost of refining petroleum products.
