Popular Nigerian digital creator and security commentator, English Alhaji, has raised alarm after allegedly receiving threatening calls from suspected bandits.
The social media personality disclosed this in a video posted on his Instagram page, where he claimed his life was now in danger following comments he made about bandits captured in the Achepe community, Nasarawa State.

Nigerian Newssphere recalls that about a week ago, English Alhaji praised youths in Achepe for resisting a bandit attack but criticized them for handing over arrested suspects to security agencies instead of killing them.
Reacting at the time, he had said, “The only mistake these people make is that this youth of Achepe catches these people, finishes them, and hands them over to the military.
“Why? Why? Do you want the army to reintegrate them? Abi, the ones they integrate never do, una? You want them to integrate more of the terrorists? Why hand them over to the military? Unalive this boy. You caught them and collected the AK-47 rifle from them and kpai’d them. Why give them to the police again? Youth of Achepe, you all did not do well for that one oo.”
However, in a new video now trending online, the content creator said suspected bandits contacted him through WhatsApp and threatened him over his remarks.
According to him, the callers displayed weapons and ammunition during the video call and questioned why he had been encouraging Nigerians to kill captured bandits instead of handing them over to security authorities.
“Nigerians, so yesterday in the afternoon, bandits called me on a video call. You can see the confidence; you guys are no longer hiding. They no longer cover their faces; they’re everywhere. They got my WhatsApp number on my Facebook page. They turned their camera to show me ammunition. Na now I know the kind of danger wey I dey,” he said.
He added, “They said, ‘Why do I tell people to be killing them? One of them said this thing: “When I tell people to unalive them when they catch them, don’t hand them over to the military; kpai them.” They said, “What if they catch me? They will do that same thing to me.”
The video has since sparked reactions online, with many Nigerians expressing concern over the growing boldness of criminal groups and the security situation in parts of the country.
