NNPCL annouces fresh fuel price reduction as Dangote, depot owners slash rates

The Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL) has reduced the pump price of Premium Motor Spirit (PMS) following a fresh round of ex-depot price cuts by Dangote Refinery and major depot owners.

A Nigerian Newssphere correspondent who monitored filling stations across Abuja on Thursday confirmed that NNPCL has adjusted its retail price from N945 to N930 per litre, a reduction of N10. The new price has taken effect across several NNPCL retail outlets, including those along Kubwa Expressway, Gwarimpa, Wuse Zone 4, Zone 6, and other parts of the capital city.

Other marketers have also revised their prices. Ranoil stations in Gwarimpa now sell at N935, down from N940, while MRS and AP Ardova outlets in Abuja dispensed petrol between N930 and N935 per litre as of Thursday morning.

The adjustments follow significant reductions in ex-depot rates by Dangote Refinery and depot operators such as Pinnacle and Aiteo, who dropped their prices by at least N10, now selling at N846, N845, and N844 per litre respectively.

Speaking earlier, the spokesperson of the Independent Petroleum Marketers Association of Nigeria (IPMAN), Chinedu Ukadike, told Nigerian Newssphere that petrol pump prices are likely to decline further as the ongoing “petrol price war” continues to intensify.
