Biafra: What We Know About Simon Ekpa’s Six-year sentence in Finland

The prime of the Prime of Biafra Government in Exile and Biafra freedom fighter has been handed a six-year sentence over claims of terrorism in Nigeria.

Mazi Ekpa, who was arrested on 21st November last year, has been in Finnish court during this period.

PM Ekpa was remanded in custody by the Päijät-Häme District Court despite calls for his release by Biafrans.

However, Finland recently sentenced him for “public incitement to commit a crime with terrorist intent”, an alleged offence dating from August 2021 to November 2024.

Leaders of Biafra are yet to react to Ekpa’s sentence as of filing this report.

Meanwhile, a source close to PM Ekpa who preferred anonymity told Nigerian Newssphere that the sentence will not deter Biafra liberation.

According to him, PM Ekpa will come out stronger.

“PM EKPA will come out stronger. Enemies of Biafra will be put to shame.”
