Former England defender Rio Ferdinand has praised Kylian Mbappe and Ousmane Dembele following France’s 2-0 victory over Morocco in the quarter-finals of the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
The former Manchester United centre-back also described the result as France’s toughest challenge so far in the tournament, insisting Didier Deschamps’ side came through it with ease.
Mbappe opened the scoring before Dembele added a second goal to seal Les Bleus’ place in the semi-finals, making France the first team to book a spot in the last four.
Reacting to the performance in a post on X, Ferdinand reserved special praise for the attacking duo.
“Mbappe + Dembele smell blood man!!!! This team is a joke ffs. Wow – this was their hardest test and comfy,” Ferdinand wrote.
