Rangers have been crowned champions of the 2025/26 Nigeria Premier Football League, NPFL, following a hard-fought 2-1 victory against Ikorodu City at the Mobolaji Johnson Arena in Onikan, Lagos, on Sunday.
The Flying Antelopes secured their ninth league title after an impressive campaign under coach Fidelis Ilechukwu.
Rangers dominated the early exchanges and deservedly took the lead in the 30th minute through Chidiebere Nwobodo.
Nwobodo grabbed his second goal of the match 10 minutes into the second half to hand the visitors a comfortable advantage.
Ikorodu City, who were also chasing a continental ticket, pulled one back in the 58th minute through Moses Ali, but Rangers held firm to seal the historic victory.
Meanwhile, Rivers United finished second on the table after thrashing Katsina United 3-0 at the Adokiye Amiesimaka Stadium in Port Harcourt.
Chijioke Mbaoma scored twice for Rivers United, while Aniekeme Okon added the third goal to complete the dominant performance.
