Popular Nigerian singer Seun Kuti has claimed that the recent African tour by American streamer IShowSpeed was allegedly sponsored by Elon Musk as part of a covert mission.
Seun made the allegation in a viral video circulating online, stating that he only became aware of the information a few days ago.
Recounting his experience, the singer said he was initially contacted by the tour’s promoter and producer, who expressed interest in meeting him. However, he claimed the meeting never happened after the team arrived in Nigeria.
“You can’t know the deals they’re making behind the scenes. You can’t know the people they’re talking to behind the scenes. You just think they’re coming to talk to you, but they all have an agenda,” he said.
He continued, “After IShowSpeed’s promoter and producer of his African tour called, they said that we wanted to see you, and I agreed. But they didn’t call me again or come to the shrine again when they reached Nigeria, and the promoter is my friend, but I don’t want to mention the name. I called and sent messages, but none of them responded.”
According to him, communication only resumed after the tour ended, but he chose not to pursue the matter further.
“Only to find out the day before yesterday that Elon Musk was the one that sponsored the whole thing to know where his satellite has reached in Africa. That’s why they were visiting bushy areas. So, all that was a spy job for Elon Musk,” he claimed.
Recall that IShowSpeed, who toured about 20 African countries in January 2026, had stated that the trip was aimed at promoting African culture.
