Kudu/Warawa Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, Hassan Danjuma, has died.
Danjuma, a first-time legislator elected in 2023, was initially voted into office under the New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP) before later defecting to the African Democratic Congress (ADC) weeks ago.
His death was confirmed early Saturday in a Facebook post written in Hausa by Saifullahi Hassan, a media aide to former Kano State Governor Rabiu Kwankwaso.
According to the statement, the late lawmaker was last seen in good health on Tuesday when he attended a meeting at Kwankwaso’s residence in Abuja. The meeting was centered on preparations for the upcoming ADC State Congress.
Danjuma was among five federal lawmakers from Kano who declined to defect to the All Progressives Congress (APC) alongside Governor Abba Yusuf, choosing instead to remain aligned with Kwankwaso.
