The Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC) has reportedly uncovered several real estate properties in Egypt allegedly linked to former Kaduna State governor, Nasir El-Rufai.
According to reports, the properties are considered relevant to the ongoing ICPC investigation into activities during El-Rufai’s tenure as governor of Kaduna State between 2015 and 2023.
The assets reportedly include three villas and six apartments located in upscale estates in Cairo, the capital of Egypt.
Sources said the villas are situated in Arabella Estate and Banafsik Estate, both in New Cairo, where similar properties are estimated to sell for between $1 million and $1.3 million.
Apartments in Cairo Festival City, another luxury residential area, are said to be valued at around $500,000 each.
Reports indicate that the properties traced to El-Rufai include a villa in Arabella Estate in the Fifth Settlement area of Cairo, another villa in Banafsik Estate in the First Settlement area of New Cairo, and a third villa in Oriana II in New Cairo, near the American University in Cairo.
The ICPC is currently probing El-Rufai over alleged financial misappropriation during his time as governor of Kaduna State.
The former governor has reportedly been in ICPC custody since February 18, 2026.
Prior to his detention, El-Rufai was also questioned by the Department of State Services (DSS) over claims that the phone of Nigeria’s National Security Adviser, Nuhu Ribadu, was tapped.
