Rivers State Governor Siminalayi Fubara has dissolved the State Executive Council, relieving all commissioners and special advisers of their duties.
The decision was announced on Thursday in a statement issued by the governor’s chief press secretary, Onwuka Nzeshi.
Following the dissolution, the governor directed all affected commissioners and special advisers to immediately hand over their responsibilities to the permanent secretaries or the most senior officers in their respective ministries.
Governor Fubara also expressed appreciation to the outgoing members of the Executive Council for their service to the state and wished them success in their future endeavors.
No reason was provided for the dissolution of the Executive Council.
