La Liga expert Phil Kitromilides has shared his thoughts on Ademola Lookman’s move to Atletico Madrid, describing the transfer as one that has sparked widespread excitement among fans.
Lookman completed a permanent switch to the Spanish giants from Serie A side Atalanta on Monday, with the Italian club reportedly pocketing around €40 million as a transfer fee.
The 28-year-old attacker becomes only the second Nigerian to represent Atletico Madrid, following in the footsteps of former player Muyiwa Lawal.
According to Kitromilides, Lookman’s arrival has generated significant buzz across Madrid, with supporters eager to see what the Super Eagles star brings to Diego Simeone’s side.
“People are super excited about this transfer; it’s a little bit of star quality coming through to Atleti. It’s a really, really interesting signing,” Kitromilides told CBS TV.
