Four teams have been officially eliminated from the UEFA Champions League following the conclusion of Matchday 7 fixtures on Wednesday.
The clubs confirmed to be out of the competition are Kairat Almaty, Eintracht Frankfurt, Villarreal and Slavia Prague.
Champions League debutants Kairat Almaty have endured a difficult campaign, managing just one point so far despite their memorable qualification after eliminating Celtic.
Former semi-finalists Villarreal have also struggled, picking up only one point in a disappointing group-stage outing.
Slavia Prague have recorded three points, while Eintracht Frankfurt have four, with just one group game remaining for all four sides.
By this stage of last season’s competition, as many as nine teams had already been eliminated.
