Transfer: Guardiola approves departure of six players from Man City

Manchester City head coach, Pep Guardiola, is ready to approve the departure of six players from the club ahead of the new Premier League season.

According to The Athletic, the players include established first-team stars like Ilkay Gundogan, Mateo Kovacic and John Stones.

Stones is available for transfer, while Gundogan is another player who could be leaving, only one year after he returned to Man City from Barcelona as Galatasaray is keen to sign him this summer.

Kovacic is being “touted” as a potential departee with the Gaurdiola’s side looking to trim their squad.

The three other players who could leave the Cityzens are Oscar Bobb, Nico O’Reilly and Claudio Echeverri.

Man City have been busy in this summer transfer windows after falling behind Liverpool and Arsenal in the title race last season.

The former Premeir League champions are also expected to make more new signings as a number of departures are also expected.

However, Guardiola is keen to work with a smaller squad in the new season.
