1. Governor Umar Bago of Niger State has said it is mandatory for preachers to submit their sermons for approval. Speaking on TVC’s Politics on Sunday, the governor said that for everyone going to sermon on Friday, he should bring his scriptures for review.

2. The Administrator of Rivers State, Vice Admiral (Rtd) Ibok-Ete Ekwe Ibas, has said the state was torn by divisions, instability, and broken trust” before the intervention of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, who appointed him to preside over the state for six months. He spoke during the Inter-Denominational Church Thanksgiving Service at the Ecumenical Centre in Port Harcourt.

3. The Federal Government has warned that 11 states may experience heavy rainfall that may lead to flooding between Sunday and Thursday. This was contained in a notice issued by the Federal Ministry of Environment’s National Flood Early Warning Centre.

4. Suspected armed herdsmen have reportedly killed a farmer and injured members of his family and several others in a fresh attack on Tse Akor Gbatse village, Nyiev Council Ward of Guma Local Government Area, LGA, of Benue state. The attack also left several persons missing and unaccounted for.

5. The Imo State Police Command has launched manhunt for the abductors of former member of the Imo State House of Assembly, Ngozi Ogbu. Ogbu, a chieftain of the People’s Democratic Party, PDP, represented Okigwe State Constituency in the legislature.

6. The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency, NDLEA, has arrested an Indian businessman, Gupta Ravi Kumar, alongside three Nigerian accomplices, over a N3.9 billion tramadol shipment intercepted at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport, MMIA, Lagos. The suspects, Ogunlana Olanrewaju, Olushola Kayode, and Bakare Muheeb, were linked to 2,248,000 pills of tramadol 200mg/225mg imported from Delhi, India.
