United States President Donald Trump has renewed his threat against Iran, warning of severe consequences if ongoing negotiations fail.
Trump made the statement on Sunday via his Truth Social platform, revealing that a delegation would be sent to Pakistan on Monday to continue discussions with Iranian officials.
Adopting a tougher stance, the US leader declared, “No more Mr. Nice Guy,” adding that failure to reach an agreement could prompt the United States to target critical infrastructure in Iran, including power plants and bridges.
The development comes as tensions remain high in the Middle East, with Iran, the United States, and Israel nearing the end of a two-week ceasefire that paused hostilities triggered by a surprise joint strike on Iran on February 28.
So far, diplomatic efforts have yielded limited progress. A 21-hour negotiation held in Islamabad on April 11 ended without a breakthrough, although behind-the-scenes engagements have continued in a bid to revive talks.
“We’re offering a very fair and reasonable deal, and I hope they take it,” Trump said, expressing cautious optimism despite the renewed threats.
