The Super Eagles of Nigeria ended the October international window with a 3-3 draw against Russia in a friendly on Tuesday night.
Eric Chelle’s side went into the encounter looking to respond positively after suffering a 3-0 defeat to Guinea-Bissau in their 2027 Africa Cup of Nations qualifying campaign.
Nigeria made a bright start and took the lead through Kelechi Iheanacho, who marked his return to the national team with a long-range effort.
However, Russia gradually took control of the match and turned the game around before half-time.
Lechi Sadulaev levelled the score for the hosts before Matvey Kislyak put Russia ahead.
Aleksei Miranchuk then extended Russia’s advantage in the second half, leaving the Super Eagles with a two-goal deficit.
Nigeria, however, produced a strong response as Peter Edokpolor pulled one back before Akor Adams completed the comeback to make it 3-3.
The result ensured the three-time African champions avoided another defeat and closed out the international window with a draw.
