Peter Okoye, one half of the defunct Nigerian music duo P-Square, has accused his twin brother, Rudeboy, of repeatedly taking advantage of controversies to tarnish his image.
The latest exchange between the brothers erupted on Wednesday following Peter’s controversial comments about the usefulness of Nigerian languages.
The controversy began after Peter responded to a fan’s question by asking, “Who naija language help?” The remark triggered widespread criticism on social media, with many users accusing the singer of belittling indigenous languages.
Amid the backlash, Rudeboy distanced himself from Peter’s statement in a series of posts on X, declaring his pride in his cultural identity.
“I’m a ‘nobody.’ I repeat!! A nobody!! Without the culture, native, language,” Rudeboy wrote.
Reacting in a public apology posted later, Peter accused his brother of using the situation to further damage his reputation.
“But again, bro, you’re at it again, using this moment as another opportunity to pull me down,” Peter wrote.
“Just like I wrote in my open letter two years ago, doing everything possible to make people hate me will never work.
“Yes, people are dragging me over my statement, and that is okay. I accept that. But deliberately twisting my words and using petty tactics to damage my reputation says a lot.
“I don’t know why you look for every opportunity to make derisive comments or jump on the bandwagon whenever I am being attacked.”
The latest war of words adds another chapter to the long-running public feud between the famous twin brothers, whose once-successful P-Square partnership ended amid years of personal and professional disagreements.
