The President of the Senate, Godswill Akpabio, and about 10 governors elected on the platform of the All Progressives Congress, APC, are currently in Osogbo, the Osun State capital, for the party’s governorship campaign mega rally ahead of the Saturday’s election.
The National Chairman of the APC, Prof. Nentawe Yilwatda, and other top party stalwarts are also in the state to participate in the rally ahead of Saturday’s governorship election.
DAILY POST gathered that some of the governors, including Hope Uzodimma of Imo State, Lucky Aiyedatiwa of Ondo State and Uba Sani of Kaduna State, arrived in Osogbo on Wednesday night.
The Minister of Marine and Blue Economy and former governor of Osun State, Adegboyega Oyetola, welcomed the APC leaders to the state in a post shared on his official X handle.
However, reacting to Oyetola’s post, Nigerian Afrobeat singer David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, ruled out the APC’s chances of winning the election.
Davido suggested that the presence of the party’s top leaders and governors would not change the outcome of the poll.
“If you like gather Jesus 12 disciples o ma LULE for the 3rd time”, the singer wrote without stating the reason his Uncle would emerge winner against Bola Oyebamiji of APC, others at the polls.
Davido’s uncle and incumbent governor of Osun State, Ademola Adeleke, is seeking re-election on the platform of the Accord Party
