United States Senator Tom Cotton has lauded President Donald Trump for authorizing recent US military airstrikes against terrorists in Nigeria.
Nigerian Newssphere earlier reported that the US military, acting on President Trump’s directive, carried out airstrikes on terrorist targets in Sokoto State on Christmas night.
While the exact number of terrorists killed in the operation has yet to be confirmed, the Federal Government of Nigeria stated that the strikes were conducted as part of a cooperative effort between Nigeria and the United States.
Reacting to the development, Senator Cotton took to X to commend President Trump, US Secretary of War Pete Hegseth, and American troops involved in the operation.
According to him, the targeted terrorists were responsible not only for the persecution of Christians but also for the killing of several Americans.
“I commend President Trump, Secretary Hegseth, and our brave troops for these strikes against bloodthirsty ISIS savages who are not only persecuting Christians but also have killed many Americans,” Cotton wrote.
