Bashir Ahmad, new media aide to the President, Muhammadu Buhari, has lost his bid to become the candidate of the All Progressives Congress for Gaya/Ajingi/Albasu federal constituency of Kano State.
Ahmad had contested against the incumbent lawmaker, Mahmud Gaya and lost.
According to TheCable, the result announced after the conclusion of the primary showed that the presidential aide polled 16 votes, while Gaya got 109 votes.
Earlier, Ahmad had taken to his Facebook page to complain about thugs at the venue of the election, saying, “As an aspirant, I left the venue of primary election for Gaya, Ajingi and Albasu Federal Constituency, because of the security of our majority delegates, if I want to compete with the best, thugs shouldn’t be part of any election.”
