Manchester City held Arsenal to a 1-1 draw on Sunday in vital English Premier League as the host failed to keep up pace with League leaders, Liverpool.
The Gunners came into the game, with expectation of meeting up with Liverpool, who outclassed Everton 2-1 in the Merseyside derby on Saturday.
The reigning champions win saw them open a six-point gap at the top of the table.
But Arsenal were pegged back as early as the ninth minute, after Tijjani Reijnders released Erling Haaland into the box.
Haaland took a touch and finished past David Raya with his weaker foot.
With the game looking like City would leave the Emirates with three points, Eberechi Eze sent a pass over to Gabriel Martinelli, who lifted it over Gianliuigi Donnarumma.
The result keeps Arsenal five points behind Liverpool, while Pep Guardiola’s men are ninth with seven points.
