Nigerian Afrobeats star Ayodeji Balogun, popularly known as Wizkid, has thrown a subtle jab at fellow singer Davido after his album Morayo topped Apple Music’s list of most-streamed albums of 2025 in Sub-Saharan Africa.
Morayo clinched the No. 1 spot ahead of Davido’s 5ive, which ranked second.
Before releasing 5ive, Davido had boasted that his project would outshine every album released around the same period — a comment widely seen as a dig at Wizkid, who also dropped an album at the time. “Album go swallow album,” Davido had teased.
But with Morayo leading the charts, Wizkid appeared to fire back. In a recent tweet, he wrote:
“Dem say album go swallow album, dem dey ground dey smell now! 😂😂”
The post has been widely interpreted as a direct swipe at Davido, sparking fresh reactions from fans who fear it might reignite the long-running rivalry between both camps.
