Nigeria’s Super Eagles B team are out from the ongoing African Nations Championship, CHAN, tournament despite beating Congo 2-0.
DAILY POST reports that Eric Chelle’s side defeated Congo on Tuesday in their final Group D encounter, thanks to goals from A. Yusuf and S. Alimi.
The result means Nigeria sit in third position in the group ahead of fourth place Congo.
The home-based Eagles have three points from three games, while Congo have two points from the same number of games.
Chelle’s side are behind the top two teams Sudan and Senegal, respectively.
Both Sudan and Senegal qualified for the last-8 after playing a 0-0 draw.
They both have five points each as Sudan top the group ahead of Senegal on goal difference.
