Dele Momodu, publisher of Ovation Magazine, has officially resigned from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
He disclosed it in a resignation letter to the party chairman.
According to him, the once-prominent opposition party, “a carcas,” is now hijacked by anti-democratic interests.
In a strongly worded resignation letter, Momodu cited the party’s internal collapse as his reason for leaving.
“My reason is simple and straightforward. Our party has been unarguably hijacked by antidemocratic forces, from within and outside, in broad daylight,” Momodu stated.
The former presidential aspirant added that it was “honourable to abandon the carcas of the party” and instead support a new political movement.
“The majority of us earnestly sign up with the new coalition party known as the African Democratic Congress (ADC),” he wrote.
His resignation comes after former Vice President Atiku Abubakar officially announced his resignation from PDP on Wednesday.
