NYSC: Abducted prospective corps members released as Olubadan confirms

The Olubadan of Ibadanland, Oba Rasidi Ladoja, has confirmed the release of prospective members of the National Youth Service Corps, NYSC, who were abducted while travelling to their orientation camp

The victims were abducted in the early hours of Thursday after leaving Ibadan on Wednesday for the NYSC orientation camp in Imo State.

Their abduction had raised concerns among their families and associates as they travelled to the camp ahead of the commencement of the orientation exercise.

However, the Olubadan has confirmed that the prospective corps members have been released.

The traditional ruler confirmed their release through his Media Aide, Adeola Oloko.

Oloko, who spoke with DAILY POST, said the Imo State Governor, Hope Uzodinma, informed Oba Ladoja of the victims’ release during a telephone conversation.

He said the conversation took place at about 5pm on Wednesday.

Oloko said: “The prospective members of NYSC who were abducted have been released.

“The Imo State Governor, Senator Hope Uzodinma, confirmed this in a telephone conversation with the Olubadan of Ibadanland, His Imperial Majesty, Oba Rashidi Ladoja, at 5.00pm today, Wednesday.

“It is true. It is good that you want to double check.”
