Afrobeats star, David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, has disclosed that the United States Government has reached out to him following concerns he raised over the forthcoming Osun State governorship election.
Nigerian Newssphere recalls that Davido had on Monday appealed to US President Donald Trump to intervene in the August 15 election, citing fears of violence, intimidation and possible disruption of the democratic process.
The singer, in a post on X, urged Trump to urgently intervene to prevent possible bloodshed and other forms of electoral violence ahead of the poll.
A few hours later, Davido returned to X to disclose that the US Government had contacted him over the concerns he raised.
He wrote, “Dem don reach out ooooo. DEY PLAY! U think the rest of the world is undemocratic like Una! Una go see something.”
However, Davido did not disclose details of the response from the US Government or the nature of the communication.
The development comes amid heightened political activities and concerns over the conduct of the Osun governorship election.
