The founder of Living Faith Church Worldwide, also known as Winners Chapel, David Oyedepo, has cautioned Nigerian youths against engaging in sports betting, describing it as a dangerous path that cannot guarantee financial success.
Speaking during a church service in a video that has since gone viral on social media, Oyedepo urged young people to abandon betting, warning that it could derail their future and destiny.
The cleric stressed that genuine prosperity is built on hard work, patience, and the right foundation rather than the pursuit of quick wealth through gambling.
According to him, slow but steady progress is more rewarding than chasing shortcuts to riches.
“Young people, Naija Bet is not the way to financial fortune. Stop wasting your destiny, stop wasting your destiny, stop wasting your destiny. I have never been once deceived.
“Stop! Things may be slow, but it’s sure,” Oyedepo told the congregation.
The bishop’s remarks come amid growing concerns over the increasing popularity of sports betting among Nigerian youths.
