Bayern Munich striker Harry Kane has named himself and teammate Michael Olise among the leading candidates to win the 2026 Ballon d’Or award.
The England captain also identified players from reigning European champions Paris Saint-Germain as strong contenders for the prestigious individual prize following the club’s successful defense of the UEFA Champions League title.
Kane expressed confidence that an English player could emerge as the winner if England triumph at the 2026 FIFA World Cup in North America.
“I’m definitely among the favorites for the Ballon d’Or,” Kane said.
“If England win the World Cup, surely you can see an English player winning it.
“When you look at the favorites, you have myself, Olise, and the players in the Champions League final.
“I saw that the ceremony was in London, and maybe that’s a good omen for me. Winning it in my hometown would make it even more special.”
The 32-year-old enjoyed another prolific campaign with Bayern Munich and believes both his club performances and England’s World Cup prospects could strengthen his chances of claiming football’s most coveted individual honor.
